Arrogant Bakers - Beware!

I am getting married in the fall and have just started meeting with bakers, I live in San Francisco. I don't want to name any businesses, as some of the bakers are friends of friends, but I couldn't believe how arrogant some of them are! I mean really, is your cake really worth thousands and thousands of dollars? I really didn't think their cakes looked or tasted that good! Are they looking to get their cakes to appear of higher value with their "holier than thou" attitude? Shouldn't they rely on good tasting and good looking cakes? I couldn't believe they were actually planning to freeze the cake layers too. (I did read on this site that it's part of the process, but it was shocking to learn at the time). I'm from the south, where grandma's and auntie's make the wedding cakes, so I'm not used to this overpriced world of wedding cake couture. I just think it's a bunch of crap. Don't get me wrong, I can afford it - I just think if I were to pay high prices I would be taken advantage of. Click here to read or post comments.
