Best Peanut Butter Cookies
Only the best peanut butter cookies belong on your dessert station at your wedding. These are like the kind your grandmother or favorite auntie used to make when you were a kid. Display them on tiered stands, colored papers, or send them home with guests in cute bags or boxes.
We use organic ingredients whenever possible when baking, especially for peanut butter cookie recipes. We always pump up the vanilla extract a bit too, as we are total vanilla lovers.
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup oats
1. Combine margarine, peanut butter, sugars, egg, and vanilla. Blend together very well.
2. Add flour, baking soda and salt with mixer. Chill dough 15 minutes in the refrigerator. Roll into balls by hand.
3. Place on sprayed cookie sheet and bake in a preheated 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) oven until edges very lightly browning (about 7 to 10 minutes). Don't overcook. We store them in a plastic storage containers, and they stay soft!
Pressed fork crisscross into cookies 7 minute into baking. Let bake 2 minutes more after that.
These will look great at weddings when you display them on different colored scrapbook papers, on tiered stands, or on large platters. Sometimes families will bring their family heirloom platters to the reception to use on the dessert table. It's a nice extra touch.
These treats are also great as party favors. Package them up in Chinese food take out boxes, clear bags or little boxes. Your guests will enjoy them for sure on the way home.
