If you're new to the the world of cake decorating,
and need some cake decorating tips, it certainly helps to have lots of
visuals, right? We get that! I'm a visual person, and don't even touch
a recipe or project unless I have a bunch of photos or how-to videos to
line it all out for me.
I feel like I've read through every cake decorating book on the market,
and have listed a few of my favorites here with the pros and cons of

This book is great for
beginners because it deals with buttercream frosting and fresh flowers
for decoration exclusively.
It will guide you step by step through
the process, timeline, equipment needed, recipes, pictures, cake cutting
diagrams, how to transport a cake, and measure pan tier sizes and volume. How to develop
ideas for your dream cake. A must read for anyone thinking about taking on this
labor of love.
Dede hates fondant so if you’re looking for a fondant
guide, this isn’t it. There's no fondant, no gumpaste, no sugar
flowers. Buttercream is the easiest beginner icing to make and work
with, and it doesn't get any easier than fresh flowers on a cake. This

Wedding Cakes
OK let's face it. This cake is
just nice to have on the coffee table. It's full of beautiful cake
decorating design ideas, that are much too advanced for any novice to
tackle. But that's OK, it's inspiring as hell, even if we all aren't MS
fans. The back part of the book actually has a decent how to on
assembling a tiered cake.
