Castle Cake Topper
When is a castle cake topper appropriate? If you’re having a typical fairy tale wedding…the poofy dress, the long train, groomsmen in tuxes with tails, escorted from the ceremony to the reception in a horse drawn carriage, OR getting married at one of Disney’s venues, then this may be the choice for you.
Some of my clients have preferred something on the lines of magical or fairytale just to help them feel special on their big day. This works too. Think you're just a princess? Yup, you may need one of these then. They come in a variety of sizes and materials. Crystal, acrylic, ceramic, plastic, and many other materials are used. Some even have battery operated lights inside to give it the extra glow. Beware of those that have large glitter, as the glitter can drop into the icing. Or your baker can lay down a piece of wax paper on the top layer of the dessert to prevent the glitter from getting into the mouths of your guests. The castle wedding cake toppers can also be edible…it’s possible for a baker to craft a structure made from marzipan, fondant or another confection. This usually can be done by creating the structure with a hard baked goods like cookies, or a rice crispy or marshmallow mixture (like a rice crispy treat). Then the structure can be covered and decorated with the appropriate icing. The structure can be left white, or colored and airbrushed to the clients’ taste or preference. There's lots of these magical styles available online in various shapes and variations, so if you're not into going the personalized route (which can be pretty expensive), you're in luck!
