Cupcake Centerpieces
Cupcake centerpieces kill two birds with one stone, really! If you
have cute little desserts, put them on towers or stands in the center of your
dining tables. Sprinkle around some fresh flowers, and votive candles
and viola! You're done. No fussy cake, no expensive flower
centerpieces, no wait staff needed to cut and serve. When guests are
ready to indulge in dessert, they can serve themselves.
You
can even include a "to go" dessert container that also serves as a
wedding shower favor. Include the to go box at each placesetting, so
guests can take one to go.
If you wish to have an official cutting ceremony, then just
have your baker bake a small dessert that you can do this with.
Your
centerpieces can either be wire trees, or cardboard rounds on a
tiered display. For more information about stands, see our cupcake
stand
section. If possible, we recommend the wire trees as they won't
completely obstruct the view across the table. Also most wire stands
hold 24 dessert. This means that a table of 8 can each have two muffins
dessert, and there will still be enough for each guest to
take one home.
Stands can often be rented or borrowed so you're
not overwhelmed with the cost of purchasing a bunch of stands at once.
You could opt to make your own out of cardboard (they're also sold in
kits), this is a much more economical way to go.
