Elegant Wedding Cake?

Hi Wedding Cake Toppers,

I was hoping you could give some advice. I am planning my wedding for the Ritz Carlton, in Half Moon Bay, CA. The ballroom is pretty formal. I fell in love with the cake I included but am worried that it won't fit in at the venue. The ballroom is elegant but kind of modern elegant (I think). The cake is too plain to me. I'm really bad at judging these things. I like the color of the ribbon around the cake though...it matches the room and also incorporates the colors outside, since the hotel is right on a bluff overlooking the Pacific.

Any advice welcome, thanks!

Asian Flair Cake on Grant Street in SF

I have no idea what the name of the bakery is that I saw this cake at. It was in the window on Grant St. in SF, kind of across the street from the Savoy Tivoli. Anyway, my boyfriend proposed to me when we were having dinner at Calzones and as we were walking back to the car I saw this cake in the window of a bakery! It was night time and they were closed. I took a picture with my phone so it didn't turn out that well. I want to have an Asian Fusion type of wedding with lots of Asian food, origami invitations, Asian lanterns, and geisha decor.

Another Asian Style Cake with Cherry Blossoms

Thanks for the post on I Dream of Cake, I have checked out their site. What really awesome work they do. I'm assuming that they only work with local brides, but I'm going to inquire if they ship. I live on the east coast.

I absolutely LOVE the cake I posted here. I loved the cherry blossom cake I saw in the Martha Stewart cake book, but it was a bit too dainty looking for me. This cake uses the cherry blossoms but has a much more bold look to it. My wedding is in a dark rustic place so it will blend well.
