Fountain Cakes out of Style?

I was wondering if fountian cakes are out of style because I just went to a bridal fair in San Diego and most of the bakeries there did not have any fountain cakes displayed, or had any pictures. When I asked if they do fountain cakes, one of the people laughed, and said no. I'm not sure if they were just being snobby, or if fountain cakes are really that out of style. The other bakers said they do not specialize in fountain cakes but if their clients really wanted a fountain cake it could be arranged.

I happen to like fountain cakes and have since I was a little kid. If I choose to have a fountain cake for my wedding, I don't want to be laughed at! But really, it's my wedding so I should have what I want. My fiance couldn't care either way, he's basically just another guest. I'm doing ALL the planning!
