Rock Climbing Cake Topper

A great rock climbing cake topper may need to be custom made, and requires a lot more time to spec out and create.

We've been getting so many questions lately about these, that we thought we should dedicate an entire page to it!

A few years ago, we had clients that chose Yosemite Valley as their wedding destination. They're avid hikers and climbers, frequenting the challenges of El Capitan and Half Dome. They had a late summer wedding at the Wawona Hotel. It was so hot that day, we had to move their buttercream dessert into a air conditioned room (and off of the patio) so it didn't spoil. The bride surprised the groom with a custom made design for the top of the dessert, that were figurine replicas of themselves, sitting on top of a faux boulder, sharing a beer, with all of their belaying gear on. Written on the side of the boulder were the words "we made it!".

The groom was not a guy to get teary very easily, but he sure did when he saw it.

If one or both of you love to belay, then adding a special touch of custom figurines atop your tiered confection at your nuptials will go over just fine.

Luckily there's a handful of pre-made figurines on the market today. Otherwise, you can opt to go the personalized or custom made route, which can be a bit more expensive.
