Sugar Cookie Icing

sugar cookie icing

This is the best and easiest sugar cookie icing recipe we have come across! So many of our brides and clients have used it, and we use it religiously too. It's simple to make and tastes yummy.

Dress up your chewy sugar cookie recipe with this great frosting.

This is adapted from allrecipes.com, and uses almond extract. It's enough to cover a dozen little guys.

WITH ALMOND EXTRACT

Ingredients:

* 1 cup confectioners' sugar
* 2 teaspoons milk
* 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
* 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
* assorted food coloring

Directions:

1. In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until icing is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.

2. Divide into separate bowls, and add food colorings to each to desired intensity. Dip, or paint them with a brush.

This one is also from allrecipes.com, but uses vanilla extract instead. The almond extract gives it a much sweeter taste, but for those vanilla lovers out there, we had to include this one too.

WITH VANILLA EXTRACT

Ingredients:

* 1 cup confectioners' sugar
* 1 1/2 teaspoons milk
* 2 teaspoons light corn syrup
* 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
* assorted food coloring

Directions:

1. In a small bowl, stir together confectioners' sugar and milk until smooth. Beat in corn syrup and almond extract until frosting is smooth and glossy. If icing is too thick, add more corn syrup.

2. Divide into separate bowls, and add food colorings to each to desired intensity. Dip, or paint them with a brush.

Enjoy!
