Sugared Pansies on My Wedding Cake

I'm glad to see this page. I'm choosing to purchase an undecorated white frosting cake from Walmart, and decorate it myself with sugared pansies. I saw a sugar pansy cake in one of Martha Stewart's books many years ago and the idea stayed with me.

I did a test run with some pansies and it was very time consuming. I started by dipping the entire flower in the egg whites and then the sugar. In the end I brushed on the egg whites, and then dipped only the edge of the petals into some super fine sugar.
