above, but t’s likely that you will not find an unusual
wedding cake toppers in any magazine or bridal supply shop. The truly
unusual ones are
the one-of-a-kind, totally custom creations, that are dreamed up all on
their own. They're truly one of a kind. Creating one is really thinking
out of the box, and creating something visually that expresses not only
facial characteristics, but who you and your fiancé are as a couple.
Here are some lovely examples that we’ve seen over the years:
- A bride and groom had just quit their high tech
Silicon Valley jobs, to start a business manufacturing and selling
thumb drives. Guess what their topper was? Two oversized thumb drives
dressed as a bride and groom. Cool right?
- Another couple had just bought their very first
home. They worked long and hard to save the funds to purchase the home,
and the home was a complete fixer upper. The groom’s brother, who was
very crafty, created a miniature wooden replica of the house for the
cake topper. Half of the house was in its current state: peeled paint,
dead tree, broken window, etc. The other half of the house, was painted
and decorated in the motif that the couple was dreaming of. On the
porch of the house (on the remodeled side) were very miniature
figurines of the bride and groom, holding up a “Home Sweet Home” sign.
It doesn’t get any more sweeter.
- Two of my dear friends that got married on a
warm autumn day in San Francisco, were dog walkers at the time. Dogs
were their world, and its how they met...at a park, while participating
in a dog training class. At the time they got engaged, they each had 3
dogs, which were really an extended part of their family. So! For their
cake topper, they used six different dog figurines, one for each one of
their dogs. The dogs were either dressed in a tux or a bridal veil,
depending on their sex. They purchased 5 of the 6 figurines from a
thrift store, and had to have the 6th custom made, because the dog was
an unusual mix, and a figurine couldn't be found for it.
