Someone threw a dinner roll at my cake

I don't have a picture of the puncture wound to share digitally, sorry. My mates were clowning around at my reception, throwing dinner rolls at each other and what not. One got tossed right into the side of my wedding cake. It left a huge dent on one side. Luckily I didn't see it happen, and my guilty friends quickly rotated the cake towards the back wall. I had a really informal wedding in my aunt's backyard, with bbq ribs and cornbread and my brother's band. It was nothing fancy. My sister's friend was trying to become a cake baker, so she volunteered to do my wedding cake. I chose a simple design, just 3 tiered rounds, and she was going to put some fresh flowers on it. Little did I know, (and she soon found out), that buttercream icing does not last in the heat. The frosting literally fell down the side of the cake. When I saw this picture originally in the tabloids I remember thinking to myself, "is that cake crooked? It is!". Boy what a laugh. I hope they at least got some pictures at an angle where it doesn't look so off centered. It just goes to show how difficult it is for bakers to get their cakes straight. Well being that there's a whole section on this I couldn't help but post. I have been saving this picture for a long time, I really like the square wedding cake. But I did notice at how crooked it looks to me. I hate to be critical! It's so hard on celebrities, they know that their cake will be seen across the world for everyone to scrutinize (which we are). very lumpy wedding cake
I'm so fearful of a cake mishap at my wedding! I don't know why. It just seems like cakes are so fragile, that any bump on the road when driving it to the reception could mess it up. Hi. I don't have a photo to share because I never saw my wedding cake. It was never delivered to my reception!
