What make good
wedding cookies? Biscotti, Mexican cookies, decorated
sugar cookies, or
your favorite or homemade chocolate chip cookie recipe. At a
wedding we planned in
Berkeley, CA a few years ago, the mother and grandmother of the bride,
surprised the bride and groom with platters and platters of homemade
Italian wedding cookies. Biscotti, baci di dama, and macaroons, made
from
ancient family recipes. The cookies paired perfectly with the cake, and
the heartfelt moments that we experienced with their lovely family that
day, is why we love planning special events.
Wedding cookies
have many uses at nuptials. They can accompany and complement the cake
or cupcakes, or they can be served at a cookie station. They can also
be boxed or packaged and sent home as favors.
The coolest
thing about wedding cookies for all of the do-it-yourselfers out there,
is that they're easy enough to bake yourself. You probably don't even
need to go out and buy anything either, except for maybe a few extra
cookie sheets and cooling racks. Baking hundreds of cookies is a big
project, but not nearly as overwhelming as creating a perfect
fondant
wedding cake!
Here are some of our favorite cookie recipes, enjoy!
