western wedding cupcakes

I'm planning on making my own western wedding cupcakes myself! I'm going to make a bunch of vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting, and put little horse shoes on top. I made a bunch of them in fondant for a test run and they looked pretty good. Someone said I should use marzipan because it tastes better, but marzipan is so much more expensive. I tried to make little cowboy hats but they were really hard and didn't turn out so good. I would love to take a sugar art class but I'm out of time! I'm getting married in 2 weeks.
